Background and founder
Absalon was created by Sebastian Merlöv as a spin-off from the development of an other software company. As a co-founder, former CEO, COO as well as one of the largest investors in that software company Mr. Merlöv saw the opportunity for Absalon to support the first company to grow in the international marketplace. Now Absalon is a strategic ISV-(Independent Software Vendor) partner with Microsoft under the leadership by Mr. Merlöv.
Why the name Absalon?
Absalon is a historic figure, a Danish bishop, in the early medieval times. He was more of a conquer and general and a strong leader in the Oresund region although he wasn’t born as a noble. Bishop Absalon was one of the main drivers in making Northern part of Europe civilized. Read more about Absalon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absalon
Absalon was the first person who was working for integration in the Oresund region and the first person to understand the potential a combined Swedish and Danish-region could have for the world around. Today the Oresund-region is one of the top commercial regions in Northern Europe with well known brands within the industries Food & Beverage, Toys, High Tech, Life Science, IT etc. It’s also a very strong region in regards to higher education from the regions Universities and the innovation combining the university results with the regions strong entrepreneurship.
Absalon was also the name of a company Sebastian Merlöv co-founded in a basement and developed with some close friends from 1995-2000 with an offering, for that time, unique web based E-crm and enterprise portal software. The company was sold successfully in February 2000 to a British e-procurement company. Absalon from 1995-2000 is good example of how to drive success when true entrepreneurship is the core and driver of the business.
The resurrected Absalon will work out from these very same principles in the mission of bringing vertical CRM solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics CRM to the market.
