Absalon supports the Ultraman Champion Jonas Colting in his quest for a third title.
First day of racing is done for Jonas Colting and the other Ultraman athletes. Jonas is in a solid lead with over 21 minutes to Mike Coughlin. Total time today for Jonas was 7:15:50.
- I had a great day even though I feel dead tired right now! Regardless of how good of a day you here this first stage is going to beat you up.
Weather on the west side of Big Island was warm but turning at south point to east clouds started to appear.
- The toughest part of the day is without a doubt the last 25 miles with a steady climb to the finish. The wind turned in the last five miles and I thought it would never end! I´m happy to be in the lead but there´s still a lot of racing to be done. I go in to day two very humble and un-assuming and will take the day as it comes, Jonas says.
