Absalon announced today that it is releasing software that includes support and a solution for the new business models and business processes that today are hitting the mature market of Life Science hard.
Within Life Science and Pharma specifically there is an on-going discussion if the sales force targeting physicians in the clinics is an effective business model as the physicians influence on prescriptions are shrinking dramatically. As the trend also includes the general debate on how to improve the results of patient care as the health care cost is on the rise, the reason for only promoting drugs as a solution to the patients’ health is not credible anymore.
The Life Science team at PriceWaterhouseCoopers describes this development in a number of reports within their Pharma 2020 Vision*. One of the key opportunities today is that the Pharma companies are fighting for about 10% of the Healthcare budget. If focus shifts from the drugs to the patient solutions the Pharmas will instantly have the possibility to target the rest of the 90% in the quest on improving patient treatments and lower the overall costs for Healthcare.
Absalon now releases software that uniquely addresses these challenges and opportunities.
